Admission Phases and Dates
Delhi University is gearing up to kickstart its admission process for the academic year 2024. Postgraduate admissions are set to begin on April 25, 2024, with undergraduate admissions following suit in mid-May. The admissions process will unfold in two distinct phases to accommodate both PG and UG applicants.
Postgraduate Admissions: April 25 – May 25
The first phase, commencing on April 25, focuses on admissions for postgraduate programs. Interested candidates can register for these courses until May 25. This phase marks the initiation of the admissions process, with a particular emphasis on PG courses.
Undergraduate Admissions: Mid-May Onward
The second phase, expected to start in mid-May, will cater to undergraduate admissions. This phase will commence after the completion of the CUET-UG examinations. Exact dates for undergraduate admissions will be announced by mid-May.
New Postgraduate Programs
Delhi University is introducing several new postgraduate programs for the academic year 2024. These include MA Hindu Studies, MA Public Health, MA Chinese Studies, MA Korean Studies, and Master of Fine Arts. Prospective students can explore these exciting additions to the university’s academic offerings.
Seat Availability and Course Offerings
The university is offering a total of 13,500 seats for postgraduate admissions, including those under the Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board. Additionally, there are 120 seats available for each of the three B.Tech programs and 60 seats each for BA LLB and BBA LLB courses.
Admission Process for Specific Programs
Admissions to BTech programs will be conducted through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), while for BA LLB, it will be through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). This ensures a streamlined process for applicants seeking admission to these specialized courses.
CUET and NTA Participation
Last year, Delhi University accepted applications for UG and PG admissions through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This year, the CUET PG 2024 results have been released, with the CUET UG exam scheduled for May.
Nationwide Participation and Examination Statistics
A total of 190 universities across the country, including Delhi University, are participating in CUET PG this year. The NTA conducted the CUET PG exam in March, with approximately 4,62,603 registered candidates. Furthermore, over 13 lakh applications have been received for the CUET UG 2024 exam, highlighting the nationwide interest in these examinations.
