Congress Corporator’s Daughter Fatally Stabbed by Ex-Classmate in College
In a heartbreaking turn of events at BV Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering and Technology in Hubballi, Karnataka, Neha Hiremath, daughter of Congress corporator Niranjan Hiremath, fell victim to a fatal stabbing on April 18. The assailant, identified as Fayaz, reportedly stabbed Neha seven times with a knife. The motive behind the attack appears to stem from Neha’s rejection of Fayaz’s advances.
The incident unfolded on the college premises while Neha was going about her day. The police swiftly apprehended Fayaz following the attack. Authorities suspect that the assailant, who was acquainted with Neha, acted out of resentment after facing rejection.
Hubballi Dharwad Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar provided insights into the case, indicating that Corporator’s Daughter Neha and Fayaz were familiar with each other and had previously studied together. The swift arrest occurred within 90 minutes of the assault. Despite efforts to save her, Neha succumbed to her injuries upon arrival at the hospital.
Neha, a first-year Master of Computer Applications student, was ambushed by Fayaz around 5 pm while she was on campus. Security footage captured the altercation, revealing a brief exchange before Fayaz launched his vicious assault.
