New Leak Reveals Apple iPhone 16 Pro Models
New leaked images give us a closer look at what Apple has in store for the iPhone 16 lineup. Sonny Dickson, a trusted source for Apple leaks, has shared exclusive images showcasing the designs of the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Although Apple is expected to officially unveil these phones in September 2024, we’re already getting a glimpse of their features.
The leaked images reveal the rear design of the iPhone 16 models, hinting at different color options like space black, grey, white, and rose. While the glass back might not be as robust as last year’s iPhone 15 Pro models, it could have been strengthened.
One notable addition across all models is the Action Button, which replaces the traditional mute switch. This programmable button can be customized to launch apps or perform specific actions, offering users more flexibility.
Another new feature is the Capacitive Capture Button, present on all iPhone 16 models. Unlike traditional buttons, this one relies on haptic feedback to simulate the feeling of a physical button.
The camera layout on the rear has also been redesigned, with a vertical arrangement of lenses instead of the diagonal layout seen in previous models. While this change may not affect photo quality, it could enable stereoscopic video recording, enhancing the viewing experience on compatible devices like the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset.
he blanks also confirm the positioning of the camera lenses in the rear camera. The diagonal layout seen in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus has been superseded by a vertical arrangement of the two lenses. It shouldn’t impact pictures taken but will allow stereoscopic video to be recorded. That won’t make a difference on the iPhone or the desktop, but it does mean that videos played back in the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset will be seen in 3D.
The iPhone will vastly outsell the Vision Pro headsets. Yet, anyone buying a Vision Pro headset in the future could find that the videos they have backed up to Apple’s iCloud service are available on their new headset and can be replayed in 3D. Alongside the new hardware, Apple plans to introduce generative AI tools into iOS 18. We should learn more about Tim Cook’s AI plans at June’s Worldwide Developer Conference. The new iPhone 16 family will likely launch in its traditional early September slot.
In addition to hardware updates, Apple plans to introduce generative AI tools in iOS 18, with more details expected at the Worldwide Developer Conference in June. The iPhone 16 lineup is likely to launch in September, following Apple’s usual release schedule.
