Hardik Pandya’s Stepbrother Arrested for Defrauding Cricketer of ₹4 Crore+
Vaibhav Pandya, the stepbrother of renowned cricketer Hardik Pandya, has been apprehended by Mumbai police for purportedly defrauding the all-rounder and his brother Krunal of an estimated sum of nearly Rs 4.25 crore. The alleged scam revolves around a polymer business venture initiated by the Pandya siblings and Vaibhav in 2021. Vaibhav was entrusted with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business.
However, it is claimed that Vaibhav violated the agreed terms by clandestinely establishing his own proprietary firm within the same industry, without disclosing this move to the Pandya brothers. Furthermore, he purportedly redirected funds from the original limited liability partnership (LLP) firm to his personal enterprise. As a consequence, profits in the partnership dwindled. Additionally, it’s alleged that Vaibhav illicitly inflated his share of profits in the LLP firm, allegedly forging the signatures of the Pandya brothers on crucial documents.
Upon discovering these discrepancies, either Hardik or Krunal confronted Vaibhav, who allegedly responded with threats of severe repercussions. Vaibhav now faces a barrage of charges including cheating, criminal breach of trust, forgery, criminal conspiracy, and criminal intimidation, alongside other sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The case underscores the complexities that can arise in familial business ventures and the potential for exploitation of trust. The fallout from such disputes can not only have financial ramifications but also strain personal relationships. For the Pandya brothers, this ordeal serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of transparency and vigilance in business partnerships, even within family circles. As legal proceedings unfold, the cricketing community and the public await further developments in this high-profile case, which has cast a shadow over one of Indian cricket’s prominent families.
