Popular Bollywood actor and social media star Poonam Pandey dies at the age of 32. As per the reports she succumbed to cervical cancer.
Her team posted on her official Instagram account which stated that the 32-year old celebrity passed away from cervical cancer.

“This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living from that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared.
What exactly cervical cancer is:
Globally, cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women, with 604,000 new cases in year 2020. About 90% of the 342,000 deaths caused by cervical caner occurred in low and middle income countries where poverty and hygiene is the most concerned issue. Most prone countries for cervical cancer are Sub-saharan Africa(SSA), Central America and South-East Asia.
Talking about the causes of cervical cancer, Human papillomavirus(HPV) is a common sexually transmitted infection disease which cannot only affect on genital area but also on skin and throat. If HPV infection left untreated for long duration then it can cause 95% of cervial cancers.
Typically, it takes 15-20 years for abnormal cells to become cancer, but in women with weakened immune systems, such as untreated HIV, this process can be faster and take 5-10 years.
Cures And Preventions:
Every disease have their cure, similarly cervical cancer could also be prevented if taken following measure in due time. Taking vaccines at an early age (9-14 years) could be an effective way to prevent HPV infection, cervical cancer can be cured and prevented.
HPV vaccines should be given to all girls aged 9-14 years old, before they become sexually active. Vaccines could be 1,2 or 3 doses. HPV vaccines is sometimes given to vaccinate boys to further reduce the prevalence of HPV in the community I some part of globe.
Also, a routine screening from the adult age of 30 years can detect cervical disease, which when treated also prevents cervical cancer.
As per reports of World Health Organization (WHO), there are 6 HPV vaccines available globally.
Apart from vaccination there are other few ways to prevent HPV infection if vaccination is missed somehow. These ways are, women should avoid smoking, males should use condoms while having sex and also voluntary male circumcision.
Some other ways to detect the cause of HPV infection such as swelling in legs, vaginal discomfort, weight loss, fatigue, and loss of appetite, unusual bleeding between periods, after menopause in women could also be an early stage detection for HPV infection.

Because of an old post of her on Twitter, Poonam Pandey gained fame when she promised to strip for the Indian cricket team if they won the 2011 cricket World Cup. Although she didn’t follow through with her promise but even though it made her came into the limelight of social media industry.
Apart from social media fanbase, she also appeared in a few Bollywood films such as “Nasha” in 2013 and “The Journey of Karma” in 2018. She also was a part of reality show named as “Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi” which broadcasted in 2011.
